Practical Tips
Summer Heat: Start before 9 a.m. or after 6 p.m. Drink 1–1.5 liters of water per person per hour of exertion in direct sunlight. Remember a hat and sunscreen.
Ochre-colored soil: Sturdy footwear with good tread is essential. Avoid the area after storms (risk of slipping).
Maps/GPX: Use offline apps (IGN, Komoot) – network coverage is unreliable on the ridges.
Environmental
Protection: Stay on marked trails (especially on loose rock and private
property). Avoid taking shortcuts on switchbacks.
